JUNGLE FOLK emerged from the idea to offer high quality, timeless and sustainable clothing.

WE create classical pieces that are wearable and combinable in various ways for every occasion.

The brand was born during a trip through Colombia, inspired by beautiful landscapes and the people's know-how of ancient techniques. The designer Pauline Treis started to develop the brand with a community of urban and rural artisans in 2013. The work with Jungle Folk enables the sustainable development of artisans, increases their incomes and improves their skills. Jungle Folk only uses sustainable and certified materials such as organic cotton, linen, silk and wool for the clothing and recycled and natural materials for accessories.

We employ artisans and sewers in Medellin, Colombia and in Lima, Peru who work in small workshops in the barrios of the city. We directly work with family businesses. Their cooperation with Jungle Folk helps them to sustain their family and kids. Recently, we started partnering with a mother and daughter family business in Porto, Portugal.

Jungle Folk is a clothing line that doesn’t go with the trend of launching multiple seasonal collections every year. We see sustainability in the longevity and quality of a design and present a carefully designed line of wardrobe classics. We don't work along the "normal" fashion calendar and with the trends that change every season. Our brand delivers clothes to wear and love forever!

The Founder

Pauline Marie Treis is the creative head behind the brand.

Born in Munich, Germany she mostly grew up in Switzerland. Travels before and during her studies in International Relation in Geneva brought her closer to issues of sustainable development, conscious global trading and the beauty of diversity found in traditional craft work in different parts of our world. After her studies she decided to follow her dream to merge her passion for craft, creativity and arts with a sustainable and social project. She is now mostly based in Zurich, Switzerland and still travels multiple times a year – for inspiration and to Colombia and Peru to develop and produce new ideas and designs.

What we stand for

  • We create social change through business not aid.

  • We work directely with every artisan and sewer who are part of the process of developping our collection. This supports them individually in accordance to their needs and situations.

  • We want to create long lasting change by investing in people.

  • On the design side we develop timeless pieces with high quality finishing in order to bring wardrobe favorites to our clients.

  • We only work with organic, certified or recycled material that last and have a positive environmental footprint.

  • We dream of a world where physical and practical needs stand above materialistic desires.
